Biography of Bryan Glenn Davis, bass-baritone

Bryan Glenn Davis was a recent finalist in the Opera Columbus, Richard Tucker, and Metropolitan Opera competitions, as well as an apprentice artist with Santa Fe Opera, Utah Festival Opera, and Sarasota Opera.

Engagements include his debut in Salome with the Milwaukee Symphony as the Cappadocian, Pistola in Falstaff with Sarasota Opera, Baron Douphol in La traviata with Dayton Opera, and Leporello in Don Giovanni with the American Singers Project. In addition, Mr. Davis has sung Abimelech in Samson and Delilah with Indianapolis Opera, and Monterone in Rigoletto with Toledo Opera, where he returned last season as the Marquis in La traviata. He has been heard in concert with the Lancaster Festival, and made his Opera Columbus debut as Second Armored man in The Magic Flute.

Mr. Davis debuted with Florentine Opera as Monterone in Rigoletto, appeared as Masetto in Don Giovanni with Michigan Opera Theatre and was heard as Bonze in Madama Butterfly as well as Gran Sacerdote in Nabucco for Utah Festival Opera. This past season he returned to Florentine Opera as Baron Douphol, sang Colline in La bohème for The Center of Music and Arts in Ohio, and made his debut as Banquo with Connecticut Grand Opera and Orchestra in Macbeth.

He has been heard with a number of orchestras as soloist in Handel's Messiah, Verdi 's Requiem, and Beethoven's Ninth Symphony.

A native of Columbus Ohio, Bryan Glenn Davis holds a Master of Music from Ohio State University.
